I need to set a budget limit to halt api usage when crossed

You can do a few things with your financial institution to set spending limits until the functionality exists. Most cloud providers will not do a hard cap but will just send a warning when a limit is approaching or past. I have still submitted the enhancement request to see if we can provide a hard cap.
