I made a quick transcriber script on my computer and wanted to use the whisper model for transcription but when checking the usage, I don’t really understand the duration part.
The audio file I transcribed was approx 30 min mp3 file. (The transcription went ridiculously fast) but when checking the usage, I see this (see screenshot below)
This was my first and only time I used this model but I wanted to understand why it says 38hs when the clip I transcribed was just 30 min.
It would be good to know going forward so that I can better plan future projects.
Hi @slicksroboto ,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We acknowledge your concern and have noted it for review. Our team will look into this thoroughly, and we will get back to you with an update.
@slicksroboto this is a bug. The good news is this is just a Usage view in the UI bug and not a billing bug. I verified on the back end system that the billing is accurate .
Wanted to check for a follow up plus an additional question. So from my side, i have run maximum 2 hours of transcriptions (audio length) but the duration displayed in the billing section still is not clear plus I cant really gauge that the pricing per minute or so is (see screenshot).
I also want to add and ask what happened with the 50$ free credits, suddenly they disappeared from my section. Where they time limited? (I saw in the details that they expired on the 10th of september but I saw them in my status just some days ago, meaning after 10th.)
@slicksroboto I just check your account and you should have a second $50.00 credit that expires Oct 10th . Are you seeing that? The older expired credit does disappear from the front end view . The fact that it was showign after September 10th has to have been a defect.
As to your original issue with the whisper pricing shoing up in your UI I do know that engineering is actively debugging that.
Hi @user54 , I’m having the same issue but I don’t know how to verify if it was deducted inaccurately.
It says I’ve used $0.7967778 for 7h 58m 4s of usage in September, but I didn’t use that much. I can’t remember the exact length of transcribing but it was less than 1h of audio I believe (I could be slightly off here but it was nowhere near 7h-8h).
I was wondering if you could please check for me? Thank you!
It seems that the Whisper billing is completely off - I am having the same issue and contacted the sales representative. It is unusable to me the way it is right now - I will be hit with very unreasonable charges
@matt I have escalated the internal defect with engineering. For all that it is noticing this it does appear to be a Billing/Usage UI issue and the back end data going to the billing system is accurate.
